What I have returned to:
- A wife and a cat who love me (the cat’s love, I suspect, is conditional on my brushing her. The wife’s, well, I won’t get into that)
- 300 email messages. 280 of them spam.
- 3 phone messages. None of them urgent.
- A mountain of mail. Two checks in the pile. One from a stock agency: $17.56.
- More fall. Leaves partially gone from the maples across the street. The Black-eyed Susans about spent for the season.
- A bird feeder destroyed by squirrels. The war escalates.
- NPR again. The news is uniformly of bad things.
- The Sunday New York Times. More bad news. At least there is a Style section.
- 75 gigabytes, from a week’s worth of shooting, to transfer to the desktop.
- And then leisure. Nothing I had to do, no place I had to be. I could read the entire NYTimes, any article I wanted. Until the afternoon, when I was due at the Seattle Photo Revu as a reviewer from 2 to 5. But until then…
