I started a Flickr page recently. I did it initially to show my neighbors the shots from the block party. Now I use it to post the Daily Photo semifinalist shots. Since I made a commitment to shoot every day, I have a process by which I organize the photos I shoot every day. In the afternoon or evening, I process the files, and star the ones that seem the more successful ones. It’s a useful organizing tool for my larger archive, as those rankings are a way to select for images in Iview Media Pro. If I force a "this is better" regime on a daily basis, I have the first step for having some structure to my body of work.
The Flickr page is as much a motivation to maintain my workflow discipline as it is to get the work seen. It takes forever to build traffic to these photo pages and, if the stats on my Daily page are any indication, I shouldn’t expect much. But you all could surprise me.
