Paul Butzi has recently ramped up his entries on his blog, Musings, which is a great thing for the rest of us. He is one of the most thoughtful commentators out there on the process of the photographic encounter. This recent posting, "The Coming Flood of Photographs" addresses what I’ve also observed, the renaissance in the popular pursuit of photography thanks to digital. I think it harkens to a coming golden age of photography, akin to the post-war era when everyone built a darkroom in their basement and Kodak offered a gazillion film and paper choices. This round will be so much bigger, because the cost of entry is so much lower. Paul's point: "Art should not be a spectator sport."
