We had 23 people for our Seder on Saturday, and 17 of them stayed for brunch the next day. Yesterday we had friends, en route from Mexico to Salt Spring Island, stop over for the night. Tonight we have our friend Chris, back from three years in China, arriving for an indeterminant stay.
And I am packing for three weeks on the road. It’s a bit busy around here.
Tomorrow begins Photo Lucida in Portland, four days of portfolio reviews. This year I’m only showing my contra dance portfolio. I want to see what legs this project has in the wider fine-art/book publishing world. As I said before in this blog, there’s a overabundance of reviewers this time who only want to see work that "pushes the boundaries of what we know photography to be." I really don’t have a good sense of the place of this body of work in the wider world. I’m about to find out. Stay tuned.
