If you've installed Photoshop CS3 on a PC you have probably encountered this glitch in your workflow. Adobe has become one of those aggressive, narcissistic programs that seems to think it's the center of the universe. It has changed the Registry settings so that, when you insert a CF card, the only option it now gives you is to download it through CS3 Bridge. It doesn't even give you an option to use Explorer to look at the photos, much less your previous options you may have set up (in my case, to auto-download to Photo Mechanic).
To get back to how things ought to be, you need to change the Autoplay options. This Adobe Forum thread tells you how.
Autoplay is a huge irritation for a variety of reasons. It was originally created with good intentions but has since turned into a major security hole.
All windows users should have it turned off.
