At the restaurant there were a group of students from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where I'm photographing today and tomorrow. I had them look through my picks and vote for which one should be the Photo-of-the-day on my Daily blog. Here's what they chose from.

Doug -- A friend sent me your link and I'm impressed! I was Enrollment Dean at Luther from 1981 through 1993, when NCSDO originally did our publications. Bernice Thieblot herself handled a lot of the writing and oversaw the production of numerous pieces that were award-winning and effective. (CASE awards and pretty consistent enrollment growth despite downward demographic trends at that time). Armand would fly her out -- photography was by Joe Rubino, also of Baltimore at that time.
We overcame the skeptism of those on campus who criticized use of a "fancy East Coast design firm" and we had a great time producing viewbooks, search pieces, a system of program brochures and several memorable posters.
Best wishes working to capture the visual essence of a very special place!
