My Platypus Video workshop started this evening. I've got some preconceptions to clear out of the way, if I don't want to be fighting this workshop for the next nine days. The orientation is heavily toward broadcast journalism. I have such a bad attitude toward the lowbrow quality and lowest common denominator sensibility of most of what I see in that medium that I have a lot of resistance to overcome.
Here's another red flag for me, from our leader Dirck Halstead. "In still photography you shoot from your heart. With video you shoot from your head. You have to think it out first."
Is this really what I want to be doing?
