I was at the rental counter at Glazer's Camera Supply today, picking up a second camcorder for a shoot tonight. Someone else was renting a video setup too. “So, are you seeing an uptick in video equipment rentals?” I asked. “Are we ever! And our one guy who knew anything is over at the main store now.”
Seattle's primary store for professional photographers is struggling to catch up with the shift to video. Glazer's, at this point, has an inadequate stock of hardware and knowledge, which is really unusual for them. We're all feeling our way into this new landscape.
