It was 16 degrees this morning when I took the hummingbird feeder to hang outside. While it was still in my hand, a hummingbird came and perched on the feeder to drink.
In the calm before the Great Weather Apocalypse of 2008 strikes here in Seattle, I went down to The Fill. This was a different Fill than I'd seen before: frost-rimmed Queen Anne's Lace stalks, large hoarfrost crystals on the puddles, and ice on the ponds thick enough for me to walk on.
