Both of these are short vignettes from this past weekend's Camp Wannadance at beautiful Ft. Flagler State Park. They're each about a minute long; the source footage is from one or two dances, each about 5 minutes long. I'm settling on a default technique now: tape two minutes close to the musicians to get my baseline audio, then roam the room for B roll. Each took about an hour and a half to edit in Final Cut. They were shot with the Canon 5D, no color correction (though I transcoded to ProRes--editing right out of the camera seems to lead to playback problems.)

I hope you still get some dancing time in yourself!

Oh I certainly did. By Sunday my feet were seriously sore.
But talk about an eagle-eyed audience. One dancer commented on how the dancers were sometimes out of sync with the music, dancers who should know better. It was 4 frames off, but boy, do these have to pass muster.
